I was employed as a Consultant Neurosurgeon at the National Neurosurgical Centre, Beaumont Hospital Dublin for over thirty years. My clinical practice encompassed all aspects of emergency and elective neurosurgery including brain and spinal trauma, cauda equina syndrome, degenerative spinal disorders and vascular surgery. I had a major subspecialty interest in minimally invasive spinal surgery. I am a graduate of Edinburgh University Medical School and trained in Neurosurgery in Glasgow, London and Dublin. I am a former chairman of the Department of Neurosurgery in Beaumont Hospital and a former Examiner in Neurosurgery for the Joint Royal Colleges of the United Kingdom and Ireland. I have carried out Medico-Legal work throughout my consultant career, balanced between commissions for claimants and defendants.
